Tyeb Mehta’s latest record-breaking sale also happens to be the second most expensive Indian painting. This Untitled 1999 sold for ₹41.9 crores in April 2022. The painting ranks No.2 among Artery India’s Top 500 Artworks. The artwork depicts a Bull on a rickshaw, with the use of bright colors brown, black, green, white against a yellow backdrop. Tyeb Mehta ranks No. 5 among Artery India’s Top 50 Artists clocking a total turnover of ₹785.5 crores against 218 artworks sold at auction.

Amrita Sher-Gil’s Untitled 1938 is one of her many achievements and is the fourth most expensive Indian painting. It fetched a whopping price of ₹37.8 crores at a live auction in July 2021. The beautiful artwork depicts a ladies' enclosure which was painted at the artist’s family estate. It showcases a group of women engaged in field work. In the center is seated a woman in a vermilion Indian attire hinting to be a bride, and an old lady plaiting her hair. In the background, women can be seen carrying pots of water on their heads. Amrita Sher-Gil ranks No. 9 among Artery India’s Top 50 Artists with a total turnover of ₹203.4 crores against 76 artworks sold at auction.
